  A BEND IN THE RIVER
  marks Roberto Occhipinti’s return to a modern jazz setting with original compositions and unique arrangements. The opening track “Umbria” sets the mood with a string quartet choral intro. The title track “ A Bend in The River” opens with a bass solo accompanied by a 40-piece string section and kicks in the groove with legendary Afro Beat drummer Tony Allen.
  ”That’s That” and “Garrotte” feature the talents of Saxophonist Luis Deniz and rising star Pianist David Virelles in a contemporary vibe. The strings return on an arrangement of the John Coltrane classic “Naima” featuring the bassist Roberto Occhipinti. “Chamacos” kicks in with a mainstream jazz groove and “Marta” written by Luis Deniz is a nod to Cuba with an explosive drum solo by Dafnis Prieto.
